We helped entrepreneur Lily Marella through a design sprint to flesh out her idea for a genderless, body-less clothing brand. Here’s what she had to say about her time working with TIC!TIC: What problem were you trying to solve when working with The Impact Collective?LM: I was trying to figure out what direction to take my business, and what steps I needed to take to get there.TIC: What made you happiest about working with TIC?LM: I loved how supported I felt. Working with an all female team as a female entrepreneur myself is very important to me. I knew that the women who were coaching me throughout this process understood where I was coming from and what I needed to succeed. It was also just an incredibly safe, trauma informed environment that bred creativity and a sense of belonging.TIC: What was the thing you benefitted the most from?LM: I loved how they all pushed me to think beyond the box that I had subconsciously put myself in. At the end of our time together I had completely unraveled my idea of what I thought I wanted as a business owner, and although that felt stressful and disappointing at the time, it was so beneficial for me in the long run.TIC: How has the work TIC did with you impacted your business since project completion?LM: II have an entirely new set of skills, and the confidence to demand what I need from my communities resources. I felt so afraid to ask for help before working with TIC, but now I know that there are so many resources around us (some for free even) and it's not shameful to ask for help or to say no and assert yourself as a woman in business. TIC gave me the confidence to know that I can do hard things in business, and that my ideas and concepts are good and deserve a chance to succeed.
